Delaware has changed the date on which it expects to send the second round of VDA invitations from May 20, 2022 to July 22, 2022. This means that companies must be vigilant in late July and early August to ensure they are aware of any invitation to participate in Delaware’s unclaimed property voluntary disclosure program. Invitations are sent via certified mail.
As a reminder, by statute, if a recipient of a VDA invitation fails to respond within ninety (90) days from its receipt of the invitation, the company will be referred to the state escheator for examination.
